Who ESA Registration Is For

ESA registration is intended for individuals whose medical or mental health condition benefits from the presence of an Emotional Support Animal.

Emotional Support Animals can be many different species and do not require task-based training like service dogs. However, your ESA must be:

Well behaved in public and at home
Not aggressive or disruptive
Properly cared for and controlled by the handler

For additional protection, we also recommend Public Liability Insurance, especially when in public and accessing shared or rented accommodation.

Medical Evidence Requirement

ESA registration requires confirmation from a qualified medical professional that you require an Emotional Support Animal due to a health or mental health condition. We understand appointments can take time, so in some cases the medical letter can be submitted after registration within a set timeframe. If you need a medical letter template for your GP, therapist, or clinician, please contact our support team and we will provide one.

Please Be Cautious of Self-Certification Claims

Any service claiming you can register an ESA with no medical involvement at all should be treated with caution.
ESA status is based on genuine support needs - not self-certification.
Presenting ESA registration as a self-access product contributes to the harmful myth that people register pets purely for convenience rather than legitimate health, emotional and psychological support.

Your Legal Rights as an ESA Handler

ESA handlers are protected from discrimination related to their disability when supported by medical evidence.

Important Legal Warning About "EU ESA Cards"

Some sites claim to offer UK and EU ESA coverage together, which is legally misleading.
Under current UK and EU regulations: There is no valid dual UK/EU ESA card and EU registration requires separate legal documentation and processes.
